Welcome to Historic, Downtown Leesburg, Virginia
Leesburg's downtown shopping district has been the focal point for commerce in the Northern Virginia and surrounding area for over 250 years. Originally called George Town in honor of the reigning monarch of Great Britain, the name was later changed to Leesburg, in honor of the influential Lee family that owned the nearby Sully Plantation. Soon thereafter, major roadways were constructed connecting Leesburg to Alexandria and the newly founded District of Columbia in the east, Winchester and the Shenandoah Valley in the west, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Frederick, Maryland, in the north, and Manassas, Warrenton, Culpeper, and Richmond in the south. As a result, Leesburg was in the center of it all, and became a thriving commercial hub connecting people to one another.

Today, Leesburg is the second largest town in the Commonwealth of Virginia and, while Leesburg certainly has grown over the years, its downtown has not lost that small town look and feel. Here you will find a wonderful mix of fine dining, diverse retail shops, and quality professional services. There is much to see and do in historic, downtown, Leesburg, Virginia.
